VIENNA, VA — Elizabeth Abiles was just one number short of winning a $165 million Powerball jackpot, but the Vienna resident still earned a seven-figure second prize.

The Virginia Lottery said Abiles matched the first five numbers and only missed the Powerball number, which earned her a $1 million prize. The winning numbers in that drawing were 8-9-11-27-31, and the Powerball number was 17.

The odds of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. The chances of winning any Powerball prize are 1 in 25.
