Bluemercury Opens at Mosaic District in Merrifield

The popular beauty store and spa opened last week; it got its start 15 years ago on M Street in Georgetown.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Bluemercury, a beauty store, spa and local success story with its roots in Georgetown, opened last week at the Mosaic District in Merrifield.

The store got its start 15 years ago at 3059 M St. NW in Georgetown and now counts dozens of stores in 18 states. Husband and wife team Marla Malcolm Beck and Barry Beck are the founders of Bluemercury. (You can keep up with all things beauty by reading Marla’s Beauty Blog.)

The new Mosaic store is the sixth in Virginia. Other locations in the Commonwealth are in Reston, Alexandria, Clarendon, Fairfax Corner and Charlottesville.

Macy’s bought Bluemercury for $210 million in cash last spring. Bluemercury will continue to be led by Marla Malcolm Beck as chief executive officer, and Barry Beck as chief operating officer.

Mosaic's Bluemercury is located at 2905 District Ave., Suite 130. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends.
