Burglary Suspect Enters Vienna Area Home Via Ladder: Police

Fairfax County Police used patrol officers, a K-9 and helicopter Monday but couldn't find burglary suspect who headed toward W&OD Trail.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police report that a Vienna area home was burglarized Monday morning when a suspect climbed a ladder and entered the home through the attic.

The burglary took place in the 8300 block of Westchester Drive (see map below) and was reported at about 11:17 a.m. Monday. Police say the homeowner came home and noticed a ladder leaning against the house and an attic window open, with the screen removed.

A neighbor alerted the homeowner that a man had just run out of a back door of the house, toward the W&OD Trail, police said. Patrol, K9 and the Fairfax 1 chopper responded. Officers made sure the house was safe.
