Car Window Shattered on I-495 with Baby Onboard in Road Rage Incident: Police

VIENNA, VA -- An SUV driver in a white Chevy Trax Thursday afternoon allegedly knocked out the window of another car that had a four-month old baby in the backseat, in what's being called a road rage incident, according to Fairfax County Police.

Police say they got a call Thursday at about 1:45 p.m. from a male driver, 38, who said he was involved in a road rage incident with another car following him. The incident started at National Harbor, in Prince George's County, Md., police said, and continued to I-495 near the Braddock Road exit, where the motorist said one of the windows in his car was shattered. Police weren't sure how the window was shattered.

The driver whose window was shattered pulled off onto Braddock Road, police said. He pulled into a gas station, where he waited for police. The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries by medical personnel, police said. The baby was not injured, police said.

Police say a suspect has been identified; NBC-4 reports that the SUV driver was found at a restaurant in Vienna, but no other details were available.

The 25-year-old male driver was interviewed and no weapon was recovered, police said. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been placed at this time.
