Child Molested at Target Store: Police

Police seek suspect in surveillance video who they say inappropriately touched girl, 11; see story for description of suspect, car.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police are on the lookout for a suspect they say inappropriately touched a child over the weekend at a Target store in Fairfax County.

Police are investigating the incident they say occurred Saturday shortly after 5 p.m. at the Target store located at 2905 District Ave. #400 in Fairfax County (see map below). The store is located in the popular Mosaic District shopping center.

An 11-year-old girl was in the store shopping with her father, according to police, and later reported to her father that a man had touched her inappropriately at the store. As soon as they got home, the child told her father that a stranger had approached her in the store and touched her buttocks, police said. The father called police immediately to report the incident. Target security video confirmed the little girl's story, according to police.

The suspect appears to be a white male in his 20s, police said. He was wearing a gray shirt and dark shorts at the time of the incident. The video shows the suspect leaving the Target parking lot in a burgundy Ford Mustang, police said.
