VIENNA, VA — When Morgan Samson married Colby Smyth, she got to experience a Christmas party like no other. Smyth's parents Linda "Tree" Smyth and Rod Smyth threw a Christmas party complete with 28 themed Christmas trees and friends and family from around the U.S. Linda "Tree" Smyth has such a passion for spreading Christmas joy through her decorated trees, that her creations became known as Tree’s Trees.

"We started with one traditional Christmas tree that we went and cut down ourselves," Linda "Tree" Smyth told Patch. "Somewhere along the way, that mushroomed into trees in every room and space."

Then in 2018, Rod Smyth died. The COVID-19 pandemic came about two years later, pausing the Christmas party and keeping the decorations in storage.

Now that tradition is making a merry return with the help of the Smyths' son Colby Smyth and his wife, Morgan Samson, who work as a duo at her father's Casey Samson Team office. Morgan Samson told Patch she wanted to bring the Christmas trees display back when the Casey Samson Team office acquired its new Church Street space in the same building as Cocoa Vienna.

"I wanted to make it feel like a whole different space, Morgan Samson told Patch. "You're no longer walking into an office. You're walking into a Christmas wonderland."

The family set up the new Christmas tree-focused display at the Casey Samson Team office at 120 Church Street NE Suite 200 in Vienna. The experience, named the Casey Samson Team Christmas Wonderland, features 20 decorated trees with different themes, including Barbie, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Nightmare Before Christmas, and more. Visiting children can complete a scavenger hunt and can pose with items like wands in the Harry Potter room.

"Each one has a story and I could tell you about most of the ornaments because they are some of my most precious memories," said Linda "Tree" Smyth.

Putting together the display was no small effort. The family already had required lots of decorations over the years, but they had to get them all to the office and set them up. Morgan Samson herself used thousands of pins to put up tinsel and other decorations on the ceiling.

"We had to call in All Star Movers to get everything from the house to the office in September. [It] took two months of long days and nights working to pull this off," said Morgan Samson.

The Christmas wonderland display debuted to the public during the Church Street Holiday Stroll on Dec. 2, days after a grand opening party for clients. Morgan Samson said a highlight was the antique Vienna Volunteer Fire Department truck making an entrance with Christmas music playing. Clients told the team they "felt like they were in a Hallmark movie." During the holiday stroll, kids were enjoying the scavenger hunt and experience so much, that parents had a hard time getting them to leave.

"One of the best things was seeing the pure excitement from everyone and having people actually thanking us for doing this," said Morgan Samson. "It was a very special moment and made all the hard work worth it."

For Morgan Samson and her husband, the display is a chance for their young kids to experience their grandparents' Christmas party that they missed out on. With a positive reception from the public, this year's display won't be the last for the Casey Samson Team office.

The public can visit the display by signing up at www.caseysamson.com/christmas to attend a free open house on Dec. 10, 17 and 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The team is also promoting the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department's ornament sales. The ornaments raise money for the volunteer fire department and include a delivery on the antique fire truck.
