Fall Cheer Registration Opens for Rising K-9th Graders in Vienna

From Vienna Youth Inc. Cheerleading:

Vienna Youth Inc. (VYI) Cheerleading is a recreational cheer program and team sport for those wanting to gain basic to intermediate cheerleading skills. VYI Cheer allows children at all skill and interest levels to experience cheerleading, whether teaching the basics to new cheerleaders or preparing more experienced players for competition or high school cheer.

Our program supports Vienna Youth Football and cheers at VYI home football games.

Cheerleaders are grouped by age and ability. Athletes will develop proper motion techniques, learn basic stunting, improve jumps and learn sideline chants, cheers, and dance routines.

Fall Cheer registration closes August 19th (note: late registration is open from August 19th- August 26th, but is subject to a late fee and availability. This program is open to rising Kindergartners through 9th graders. Practices will start the week of August 29th or September 5th (as determined by the squad's coach). All cheerleaders are asked to attend cheer camp on Saturday, September 10th from 1:30-4:30. We use this time to teach cheer fundamentals, learn VYI cheers, talk about the role of a cheerleader, etc. The first football games of the season will be on Saturday, September 17th.

Cost is $150 until August 19th. Late fee of $30 is added after that date. Registration closes August 26th.

Included in cost:

• Cheer Camp – Saturday, September 10th from 1:30-4:30
• Practice Uniform: T-shirt and shorts
• Water bottle
• Squad bow and socks

Cheerleaders will be provided with a VYI Cheer uniform to wear at games.

Squads will consist of approximately 15 athletes and will cheer for at least one football weight division.

Squads are grouped by grade: Tiny (Kindergarten), Mini (1st/2nd, 3rd/4th), Junior (5th/6th), Senior (7th/8th/9th)

Games are at Waters Field on Saturdays in September and October.
