Fatal I-66 Hit and Run: Police Make Arrest
A Centreville man has turned himself in Monday in connection with fatal hit and run on I-66 Saturday, according to Virginia State Police.

FAIRFAX COUN TY, VA -- A Centreville man has been charged in Saturday’s fatal hit-and-run after turning himself in Monday to the Virginia State Police, police announced Monday night. Evidence confirmed Khoa Do Dang Nguyen, 23, was the driver of the Toyota Corolla that struck and killed a Manassas woman on Interstate 66 at the 56 mile marker in Fairfax County, according to Virginia State Police.
Nguyen has been charged with one felony count of hit-and-run and was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, according to Virginia State Police.
At 2:20 a.m. Saturday, Virginia State Police responded to the crash scene. A black Toyota Solara traveling west on I-66 had pulled off onto the shoulder so the driver could retrieve something from the trunk. As the driver was walking alongside the car, she was struck by a passing vehicle that fled the scene.

The driver, Yesenia Esmeralda Funes, 37, of Manassas, died at the scene. A female passenger seated inside the Toyota was not injured. The incident remains under investigation.
