The Virginia Department of Transportation will close Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west at I-495 from Friday night at 9:30 p.m. until 7 a.m., Saturday to complete a traffic shift, according to a release from the agency.
All traffic will be detoured off Route 7 west to I-495 north and directed to take Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) south, to I-495 south, back to Exit 47A, Route 7 west.
Motorists should also expect the Route 7 west exit ramp to I-495 south to be closed overnight. Traffic will detoured onto I-495 north and directed to take Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) south, back to I-495 south.
The traffic shift is part of the 495 Express Lanes Project.
