Quick Service Restaurant MOD Pizza Suddenly Closes In Vienna
MOD Pizza, a quick service pizza spot known for its unlimited toppings for one price pizzas, has closed its Vienna location.

VIENNA, VA — MOD Pizza, a franchise known for its quick service pizzas, has closed its doors in Vienna.
The location at the Vienna Shopping Center (168 Maple Ave W, Vienna, VA) has a sign outside its door saying it is permanently closed. The restaurant encourages customers to visit its next closest location at Greenbriar Town Center, 13061 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway Suite S, Fairfax, VA.

After nine years of operating in Vienna MOD Pizza has decided to close its Vienna Shopping Center location.
We want to acknowledge our past and present Squad members who dedicated their time and energy to this restaurant. It has been a pleasure serving the Vienna community and we are so grateful for our loyal guests who supported us along the way. While the decision to permanently close was difficult, it presents an opportunity for MOD Pizza to refocus, adapt and emerge stronger than ever.
As a brand, we want to focus on providing the best experience possible for our Squad, guests and the communities we serve. Wherever possible, we are working to transition impacted employees to nearby MOD locations to ensure continued employment with the MOD Squad.”
MOD Pizza dates back to 2008, when Scott and Ally Svenson founded the first location in Seattle. The Vienna location opened in 2016. According to the restaurant's website, MOD Pizza focuses on providing quick service individual-sized pizzas with a choice of 40 toppings, eight finishing sauces, and eight dressings. The menu includes an option to add unlimited toppings, all for one price. The franchise has also stressed giving back to the community by supporting various causes and holding fundraisers.
Other MOD Pizza locations listed in Virginia are Ashburn, Chesapeake, Chesterfield, Fairfax, Gainesville, Glen Allen, Hampton, Mechanicsville, Norfolk, Purcellville, Reston, Richmond, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and Woodbridge.

In other news at the Vienna Shopping Center, Cuco's Peruvian is opening in place of the closed Don Pollo of Vienna. It appears to be a similar Peruvian-style restaurant and aims to open in spring 2025.

Chef Victor Albisu of Taca Bamba is planning to open a steakhouse called Electric Bull in summer 2025. It will be located at 176 Maple Ave, a few doors down from Taco Bamba.
Another future opening at the shopping center will be 24/7 gym Pump 24. Recent additions to the shopping center were Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. and Lebanese restaurant Seray in 2024.
