More Than 1,000 Without Power in Vienna Area

VIENNA, VA -- More than 1,000 homes are without power Tuesday afternoon in the Vienna area, according to a Dominion Power outage map.

Much of Northern Virginia was under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning Tuesday, including Fairfax County, until at least 4:15 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The Dominion map shows 1,036 homes without power in an area bordered by Maple Avenue East and Lawyers Road in Vienna. As of about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dominion had not offered a timeframe for power to be restored.

Nearly 9,000 homes are without power Tuesday afternoon in Northern Virginia, including homes in Arlington County (250), Fairfax County (1,283), Loudoun County (2,540) and Fauquier County (4,663).
