Police: Driver Charged After Hitting Bicyclist on Nutley Street
Crash happened at the end of rush hour July 16.
A driver was charged by Vienna Police after hitting a bicyclist last week on Nutley Street.
Vienna Police said the driver was headed eastbound on Tapawingo Road around 6:40 p.m. July 16 when it stopped at the red light at Nutley Street SW.
The female driver then tried to make a right turn on red and struck a bicyclist traveling northbound on Nutley Street, toward Maple Avenue.
The driver was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian in an intersection.
Vienna Police Department spokesman Officer Gary Lose said the bicyclist was tranported to a local hospital with minor cuts and bruises.
