Police Log: iPhone, Wallet Stolen From Country Club
The following arrest information was supplied by the Vienna Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction

Vienna Police are investigating the apparent theft of an iPhone and a purse from
A woman reported she placed her iPhone in a locker at the Westwood Country Club at noon on March 23. When she went to retrieve it, she discovered that it had been taken.
A woman reported while working at a charity event from 7 to 10 p.m. March 24 at Westwood Country Club, she placed her purse inside an office area. Upon returning to retrieve her purse she discovered that her wallet and its contents were missing from the purse. Police are still investigating this case.

Other highlights from the Vienna Police Log, March 23 to 29:
- A citizen reported that at 4:30 p.m. March 22, a man tested the smoke detector in the common area of the Park Terrace Court SE using a lighted piece of paper. Once the alarm sounded the individual shouted “It works” then walked away.
- An employee of AJ’s Sport Shop reported between 7 p.m. March 22 and 10:55 a.m. March 23, someone threw a concrete block through a window.
- A woman reported someone had been trying to use her debit card at an area gas station between 8 and 11 p.m. March 22. She then discovered that her wallet and its contents had been stolen from inside her purse. The victim believes her wallet was stolen from the interior of her purse while she was sitting outside the Cold Stone Creamery. This case is still being investigated.
- A man reported between 8 p.m. March 22 and 8 a.m. March 23, someone had entered his unlocked work truck on Ross Drive and Desale Street and stole some tools. Police are still investigating this case.
- A woman reported finding her deceased mother inside her home at 10 p.m. March 22 on Charles Circle SW. There do not appear to be any signs of foul play and a detective will follow up on this case.
- A woman reported at 8 a.m. March 23 her former husband had threatened her over the telephone.
- A man reported between 9 and 10:14 p.m. March 23, someone had “egged” his parked vehicle on Ware Street SW.
- At 11 a.m. March 23, a citizen turned in some live ammunition that was discovered inside of her home to the Vienna Police Headquarters .The ammunition will be destroyed.
- At 12:26 a.m. March 24, police checked for suspicious individuals near the Dominion Power station, 300 Block Center Street N. Several items of discarded debris were located in the area, but police could not find anyone in the area.
- While conducting a traffic stop at 2:12 a.m. March 24 at Park Street and Tapawingo Road SE, police detected the driver of the vehicle may be impaired. After attempting to complete several field sobriety tests the driver, Douglas Carbajal, 24, of Vienna, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Carbajal was taken to Vienna Police Headquarters for breath analysis and then the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
- A man drove himself at 6:45 p.m. March 24 to the Vienna Police Headquarters and complained of chest pains. Fairfax County EMS responded and transported the man to an area hospital for treatment.
- A citizen reported a suspicious vehicle parked at 12:12 a.m.March 25 on Old Courthouse Road NE. An officer located the vehicle and upon his interaction with its occupants detected the presence of suspected marijuana. He also discovered the driver, an adult, was in the vehicle with two juvenile females. Further investigation revealed that all three had been smoking marijuana. The driver, Daniel Sheehy, 18, of Vienna, was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of possession of marijuana. Sheehy was issued summonses for the violations and released after signing them. The two 16-year-old girls were detained and released to the custody of their parents.
- A citizen reported a suspicious vehicle had been idling at 1:42 a.m. March 26 on Ross Drive SW. Police were unable to locate the vehicle but did discover the home in front of where the vehicle had been sitting was unsecured. The home is under construction and vacant. An search of the property did not yield anything suspicious.
- A man reported between 6 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. someone had tried to make a purchase using his credit card number. The transaction was detected by the card company and intercepted. A short time later the complainant learned his card had been used at other websites to make successful purchases. Police are still investigating this case.
- At 11:19 a.m. March 26, police located a man that was wanted in Montgomery County, Maryland on Mill Street NE. The warrant charged Christopher Gould, 33, of Ashburn, Virginia with assault. Police arrested Gould at his workplace for being a fugitive from justice and took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
- A business owner reported finding three used syringes at 12:31 p.m. March 26 behind her building on Mill Street NE. Police collected the needles and placed them into storage for destruction.
- The supervisor for a group home reported that one of the residents had not returned home between 4 p.m. March 26 and 1:04 p.m. March 27. Police investigated and found the resident was safe and doing well. The resident was found a short distance away and was transported back to the home by a friend.
- A contractor reported between 3 p.m. March 26 and 7 a.m. March 27, someone stole two ceiling fans from a home under construction on Ridge Road SW. Police are still being investigated.
- A Church Street business owner that sells wedding gowns reported at 11:51 a.m. March 27 a customer had mailed her a check. The check was for an amount far greater than the purchase price of a gown. The individual asked
her to deposit the check as payment for the wedding gown and then mail the remainder of the money back to him. Note from police: This is a common scam. Individuals attempt to get people to deposit fraudulent checks and wire cash back to them before the check has cleared. - A resident reported at noon March 27 a neighbor left photographs of text messages on her doorstep on Roberts Drive NW. The messages were reportedly exchanged between the neighbor and the complainant’s husband. The woman banned the neighbor from her property. Police gave her information about the warrant obtainment process.
- Police responded at 1:31 p.m. to serve a medical detention order on an individual on Berry Street SE. Fairfax County EMS was also summoned to the home. Together, police and the medics were able to transport the unwilling patient to an area medical facility for evaluation.
- Police responded to a report of a man and woman having a heated argument at 6:26 p.m. March 28 inside Southside Park while children's ball games were in progress. Police located the man and woman and learned that one of them had lost a key and the other party was angry about it. After police counseled both parties, the situation was resolved and they left the park.
- During a traffic stop at 11:36 p.m. March 28 on Maple Ave NE, police detected suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. Further investigation yielded a used smoking device. Police also learned the driver was operating his vehicle while his right to drive was suspended in Virginia.The driver was issued a summons for driving on a suspended license and speeding. The marijuana pipe was seized for destruction.
- A resident reported between 8 and 8:09 a.m. March 29, a woman stole her recycling bin from her home on Ayrhill Avenue NE. The suspect, a white female in her 50s that was well dressed, stopped her white vehicle and got out, according to the resident. She then stole the bin and drove away.
