Police Log: Officers Investigate Stalcup's in Check Fraud
The following arrest information was supplied by the Vienna Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction

Update April 11 11 a.m.: A certified check was given to the All Night Grad program on Wednesday morning; the case against Stalcup's is being dropped.
Original: Vienna police are investigating the former Stalcup's Hardware Store in an alleged check fraud incident involving a local high school.
A member of the booster club at told police she had given Christmas ornaments to the former Stalcup’s Hardware Store in December 2011 to sell on the organization's behalf. The plan was to give the proceeds to the school to help fund its all-night graduation event.

Two checks were written to the school boosters for the ornaments, the member said, but one of them couldn’t be cashed due to insufficient funds.
Attempts to contact the issuer of the check have been unsuccessful.

Police are still investigating this case.

- Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at 9:11 a.m. March 30 at the Vienna Post Office. After identifying the suspect, police learned he was wanted by Prince George’s County, Maryland on an outstanding warrant charging him with grand larceny. Police arrested Jerome Julius Brown, 58, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland for being a fugitive from justice. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
- Police responded at 7:35 p.m. March 30 for a domestic dispute on Locust Street SE involving a 14 year-old boy. Police spoke with the father, who said his ex-wife was grounding their 14 year-old son and he now wanted to leave to go stay with the father. Police spoke with the mother and met with the son; the son ultimately stayed at the mother’s house.
- At 12:32 a.m. March 31, police responded to Blair Court NW to assist Fairfax County EMS with a 15-year-old girl that became violent with them. The girl and another friend had consumed excessive amounts of alcohol. Both girls were transported to an area hospital for treatment and their parents were notified.
- Around 6:03 a.m. March 31 on Tapawingo Road SE, a citizen reported an intoxicated woman, who was not wearing shoes, came to his house and asked to use the telephone. The woman then called her sister and told her she had a fight with her boyfriend. The sister responded and picked the woman up to take her home.
- Police found a man lying against a security fence at 3:40 p.m. March 31 at the Dominion Power Sub Station on Center Street NE. Police discovered he was intoxicated. They arrested Keith Booth, 45, of Vienna, for drunk in public and trespassing and transported him to the Fairfax County Adult DetentionCenter.
- A woman reported at 8:11 p.m. March 31 her son had threatened her over the telephone. Police contacted the son, who reported he and his mother had been arguing but he did not threaten her. The warrant obtainment process was explained to all involved parties.
- An employee reported at 4:50 p.m. April 2 a customer appeared to be stealing merchandise from , 419 Maple Ave SE. After confronting the customer he returned the rabbit to its proper place on the shelf. The employee declined to prosecute the individual for concealment but did ban him from the store.
- Police saw an apparently intoxicated man staggering through the parking lot at 10:30 p.m. April 2 outside of the at 537 Maple Avenue NW. After investigating, police arrested Jose Hernandez, 44, of Vienna for drunk in public. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
- A woman reported at 10:30 p.m. April 2 her mother had thrown a glass inside her home on Mashie Drive NE. Police discovered the woman had asked her parents to buy her some cigarettes. The parents said that they would do so if the daughter cleaned her room. This did not set well with the daughter and at some point a glass was broken inside the home. A friend of the woman responded to the house and transported her to another neighbor’s house.
- A woman reported between 11:30 a.m. and 4:55 p.m. April 3, someone attempted to enter her home on Windover Ave NW by damaging a door lock. It does not appear as though the attempt was successful. Police are still investigating the case.
- A woman reported at 5:09 p.m. April 3 her husband had come to her place of employment, Robek's Restaurant, in violation of a protective order. The husband had left the area prior to police arriving.
- While conducting a traffic stop at 10:34 p.m. April 3 in the 1100 block of Maple Avenue NE, police detected the driver was impaired. After attempting to complete several field sobriety tests, Kimberly Ann Faison, 39, of Burke, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She was taken to Vienna Police Headquarters for breath analysis, and then to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
- At 5:55 p.m. April 5, an employee was asked to leave Navy Federal Credit Union and not return after making threats toward coworkers. Police escorted the person off the property.
