Scripps National Spelling Bee: Meet The Oakton Contestant
The 92nd annual Scripps National Spelling Bee is nearly here. Oakton will be represented among the contestants.

The 92nd annual Scripps National Spelling Bee is coming up and an Oakton kid will compete this year. More than 560 children from all 50 states will vie for a shot at becoming the nation’s preeminent speller.
Oakton's contestant is 13-year-old Fetin Hussain, an eighth grader at Pinnacle Academy. He competed in the spelling bee last year and tied for 42nd place. Aside from the spelling bee, he's interested in learning about other cultures and is a resident of three countries on different continents.
Preliminary multiple-choice tests will be held Monday, May 27. Onstage spelling competitions will be held all day the following Tuesday and Wednesday, with finalists competing Thursday, May 30. No more than 50 spellers will advance to the finals Thursday.
