UPDATE: Power Restored to 1,700 Sunday Night in Northern Virginia
About 70 homes were without power Sunday night at about 11:15 p.m., after storm blew through area.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA (UPDATE): Dominion Power reports power has been restored to more than 1,700 homes as of about 11:15 p.m. Sunday. A storm packing high winds knocked out power to a patch of homes Sunday night for several hours in Northern Virginia, according to Dominion Virginia Power.
The weather service said winds during the storm may have reached 40 MPH.
The utility's online outage map showed 1,748 homes without power at about 6:45 p.m. near Fred Crabtree Park/Moneys Corner near Vienna, Chantilly and Reston. Dominion estimates power should be restored between 8 p.m. Sunday and 1 a.m. Monday. Power was restored to most homes by 11:15 p.m., without about 69 homes still without power, scattered throughout the area, in Fairfax County and Arlington.

Temperatures were warm, in the low 80s Sunday in Northern Virginia; the National Weather Service predicts temperatures will dip into the 40s overnight.
