Luckily, Vienna is an area with abundant activities for families. From interactive performances for children to play spaces and water fun, here are Patch's recommendations for fun with children around Vienna.

Location: Town Green: 144 Maple Ave E, Vienna, VA
The Town of Vienna hosts these children's programs on Tuesdays through much of the summer. The programs range from music to magic and storytelling. Parents can bring a blanket or lawn chair for the 30 to 45-minute program for children. Programs run through Aug. 15 and are free.
Location: Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts: 1551 Trap Road, Vienna, VA
This summer tradition involves shows geared toward children ages 4 and up. Shows will get children engaged with storytelling, music, dance and more. Shows are about an hour long and are held select days through Aug. 5.

A stroll through Meadowlark's vibrant gardens is a good way to entertain the kiddos any time. But the park also holds events regularly, such as Preschool Nature Nuts events, the Fairy Fun Time Friday on July 28 or Turtle Time at Meadowlark on Aug. 1.

This children's play center offers classes, camps and birthday parties to let kids release their energy and have fun. Even if you don't want to commit to a full class or summer camp, you can sign your kids up for the Parents' Night Out on select evenings from July 21 to Sept. 29.

Splash parks are an easy way to entertain kids while cooling off. Some options near Vienna include The Boro (Silver Hill Drive and Boro Drive, Tysons, VA), Reston Town Center (12023 Town Square St., Reston, VA), and Fairfax City Public Foundations (10415 North St, Fairfax, VA).
6. Perch Putt

This 18-hole mini golf course is a fun option atop Capital One Hall on the 11th floor. In between mini golfing, let the kids enjoy the Perch's park and seasonal food trucks. Make a reservation to ensure you have a spot.

This zoo formerly known as Roer's Zoofari is under new ownership. With a focus on animal welfare, the experience allows families to get up close with nature and learn about different animal species. A ticket includes a drive-thru safari and walk-through area.

This family waterpark has something for all ages. With an Old West Gold Rush theme, the park has slides, flumes, sprays, showers, floatables, interactive water playground, a lazy river and more. Highlights include Pete's Peak, a mountain with various slides, and Tenderfoot Pond, a space for younger children.
