Monday, Sept. 16

The Shepherd's Center of Oakton-Vienna sponsors Lunch n’ Life, which will take place from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2589 Chain Bridge Road. Tuesday, Sept. 17

Historic Vienna, Inc. is sponsoring a lecture by Air Force veteran, retired diplomat, Patch blogger and author Robert F. Dorr at 7:30 pm at Vienna Town Hall. Dorr will discuss his latest book, “Mission to Tokyo,” the story of the American airmen, ground crews and escorts who flew long-range bombing missions during the final months of World War II. Drink up and join the Arlington Food Assistance Center in taking action to fight hunger in the community. Speak and Spell. Virginia’s own Sen. Tim Kaine and Rep. Gerry Connolly will take the stage along with other lawmakers and journalists in that most American of showdowns – the spelling bee.
