Veterans Day 2024: Ceremonies, What's Closed Around Vienna
Veterans Day, which recognizes those who have served in the military, will prompt ceremonies and deals for vets.
VIENNA, VA — Veterans Day, a time to recognize those who have served in the U.S. military, is a federal holiday that will be recognized on Monday, Nov. 11. In Vienna, there will be ceremonies, closures and deals for veterans to recognize the holiday.
Town of Vienna offices will be closed for the holiday on Nov. 11. Regular trash collection will be held.
The American Legion Dyer-Gunnell Post 180 will host its Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. on Monday at 330 Center Street N. The ceremony features American Legion's executive director of government affairs Mario Marquez and will honor the service of veterans.

Other nearby ceremonies and events include the National Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 10, Great Falls ceremony on Nov. 11, Fairfax ceremony with American Legion Post 177 on Nov. 11, National Veterans Day Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery on Nov. 11, Falls Church ceremony on Nov. 11, Herndon ceremony with The American Legion Post 184 on Nov. 11, and Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston's veteran pancake breakfast on Nov. 16.
Beyond Veterans Day, veterans can receive a free meal at the Vienna Moose Lodge Tribute Feast on Nov. 16 starting at 4 p.m. The event includes live music by two local bands, fried turkey, a Christmas tree lighting and more. While veterans get in free, tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Vienna Moose Lodge membership is not required.

Another promotion for veterans will be free car washes at Mr Wash Car Wash's 11 locations. Veterans, active duty military and military spouses can receive a free car wash from Saturday, Nov. 8 to Monday, Nov. 11. The closest location to Vienna is 8218 Leesburg Pike, Tysons, VA, but there are 10 other locations.
