Vienna Area Man Makes Up Carjacking Story, Police Say

Fairfax City Police have charged a Vienna area man with filing a false report.

Fairfax City Police say a Vienna area man made up a story about being the victim of a carjacking in Fairfax City.

Police say the man reported that the incident took place May 8 at 11180 Lee Highway, at the Navy Federal Credit Union parking lot.

Police say the Vienna area man reported that on May 8, at 1:45 a.m., after he had made an ATM withdrawal, four male subjects pulled him from his vehicle, demanded his money and assaulted him, then left the area in his car.

As the result of investigation by the Fairfax City Police Criminal Investigations Division, it was determined that the alleged victim had fabricated the entire story, had not withdrawn any money, and still had possession of his vehicle, Fairfax City Police said.

Nicolas Jedrederick Silva, 27, of Center Boro Drive in Vienna, was charged with filing a false report and released on personal recognizance, according to Fairfax City Police.
