Vienna Team Competes In Little League World Series Regionals
Vienna Little League's American All Star Majors is vying for a spot in the Little League World Series during a regional tournament.

VIENNA, VA — Virginia is represented by a select group of young baseball players from Vienna who are competing in Little League World Series regional tournaments this week for the right to represent the Southeast region in the Aug. 16-27 finals in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Vienna Little League's American Majors All Stars, nicknamed the Big Red Machine, are playing in the Southeast tournament at Warner Robins, Georgia. So far, the team is 1-0 in the tournament after an 11-8 Thursday win over South Carolina's team. Vienna's team is expected to face the team representing Florida on Saturday. Semifinals would then be held Sunday and Monday, followed by finals on Tuesday.
In 2022, Big Red Machine's 11U team won Vienna Little League its first Southeast regional championship since 1972.

Another Vienna Little League team has already brought a regional championship title home in 2023. The team's younger peers, the Vienna American 8-10 All Star team, went undefeated to win the Southeast Region Tournament of State Champions in Wilson, North Carolina.
The Little League's Southeast tournament features teams from seven states. Ten regional tournaments are being held with U.S. teams, and an international bracket is being held with teams competing in the Asia-Pacific, Australia, Canada, Caribbean, Cuba, Europe-Africa, Japan, Latin America, Mexico and Panama regions.

Making it to the tournament, now in its 76th year, represents the pinnacle of success for Little League teams across the country. The Little League World Series has been an iconic part of the lore of the United States’ national pastime since its inception and is a staple on ESPN networks every summer.
ESPN said earlier this year it planned to broadcast all Little League Region and World Series baseball tournament games.
