Vienna Boy Charged in Explosive Device Case
Sixteen-year-old minor one of five charged in incident on Gallows Road

A Vienna boy was part of a group of teens charged last week after an explosive device went off inside a mailbox along Gallows Road.
The 16-year-old boy was the only minor in the group, according to information released by the Fairfax County Police Department. He, along with Michael Bauer, 19; John Hook, 19; David Yeaney, 19; and Brian Phan, 18, all of Falls Church, were charged with creating and/or using explosives.
Police responded at 12:15 a.m. May 12 to the intersection of Gallows Road and Railroad Street, near the Dunn Loring Post Office, after a citizen reported a suspicious event. An investigation led to the discovery of the exposive device, and the group's involvement, police said.
