Vienna Girl Scout Earns Gold Award

Blacker developed interactive lessons plans to teach middle school students about the Holocaust. Her lessons incorporate real life survivor stories and will be implemented in Fairfax County Public Schools. Her project earned her the Girl Scout Gold Award.

According to the Girl Scouts of the Nation's Capital, 182 Girl Scouts from D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia have earned the Gold Award this year. Many Girl Scouts used social media and video to expand the reach of their Gold Award projects.
