'Epic Run': Vienna Little League Team Eliminated In World Series Quest
After several weekend games in a World Series regional tournament, American All Star Majors were eliminated from the competition.

VIENNA, VA — Vienna Little League's American All Star Majors are headed home after being eliminated Sunday from the Southeastern Region Little League Tournament.
The 11U team, nicknamed the Big Red Machine, had advanced to the tournament as the Virginia Major League champions. Champions of the regional Little League tournaments will advance to the Aug. 16-27 Little League World Series finals in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
In the Little League regional tournament, Vienna won 11-8 over South Carolina's team on Thursday. The team lost 11-1 against Florida's team Saturday but got another chance with a 5-4 win over West Virginia's team later that day.

The team ultimately was eliminated with a 7-2 loss against Tennessee's team. That game decided who would move on to the semifinals.
Still, Vienna's team has a lot to be proud of, including representing Virginia in the Little League's southeast regional tournament. In 2022, the All Star team won Vienna Little League its first Southeast regional championship since 1972.
