Vienna Team Heads To Final In Tournament Of State Champions

VIENNA, VA — Vienna Little League's Big Red Machine is rolling over opponents in a quest to win the Tournament of State Champions in Wilson, North Carolina.

The Vienna American 11's All Star team, also known as the Big Red Machine, is 4-0 in the tournament, earning the top seed with wins over Bridgeport Little League, Greenville Tar Heel Little League and Durham South Little League.

In the semifinals at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, the team won 13-6 over the number four seed Georgia. In the other semifinal game, Fort Lauderdale Little League was defeated by Greenville Tar Heel Little League. With the semifinal win, Vienna will play Greenville Tar Heel Little League in the championship game at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Vienna Little League's AL 11's All Star team secured its place in the Tournament of State Champions with a 3-0 win over York County to win the Virginia state title.
