Virginia Beach police arrest man for Saturday's homicide, identify man killed (pilotonline.com) — Virginia Beach police have charged a 45-year-old city resident with second-degree murder after a man was fatally shot Saturday on Pinecone Circle. Investigators have identified the victim as a 35-year-old Norfolk man and are asking anyone with information to contact VBPD or submit anonymous tips through Crime Solvers or P3Tips.

Virginia Beach CASA needs more volunteers to help kids through court (whro.org) — Virginia Beach CASA is urgently seeking more trained volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in local Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Leaders and a retired Navy admiral explain how CASAs visit kids regularly, gather information, and give judges a fuller picture so children can find safe, permanent homes in Virginia Beach.
   

3. Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art prepares to leave Parks Avenue (wtkr.com) — Virginia Beach’s Museum of Contemporary Art is saying goodbye to its longtime Parks Avenue home with a final exhibition featuring 77 local artists and scenes from across Hampton Roads. The museum will move to Virginia Wesleyan University in 2026, and residents are invited to a farewell celebration with a vault tour and silent auction on January 10–11.
