Alexandria's First Homicide Of 2022 Reported: Police

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Police are investigating the city's first homicide of 2022.

Police were called to the 4500 Block of Raleigh Avenue around 6:50 a.m. due to an unresponsive person in the bushes. Officers found a person dead on the sidewalk near a residence, according to police.

The person was identified as Elijah Williams, 25, of Alexandria. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide due to upper body trauma.

The homicide is under investigation by police. No arrests have been announced.
