Crime Report: Multiple Thefts from Cars in One Neighborhood
One two nights, a dozen residents of one West End neighborhood reported their cars were entered and items were stolen.

More than a dozen people in the neighborhood between W. Braddock Road and King Street west of Bradlee Shopping Center said their cars were entered and cash, cell phones, sunglasses and other items were stolen, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
Most of the incidents occurred Monday and Tuesday, May 6 and 7, according to police reports posted on crimereports.org. See individual incident reports below for more information.

May 5
5:40 p.m., a person in the 5400 block of Bradford Court reported someone entered their apartment and stolen a “large amount of jewelry, cash and electronics,” according to police reports.

May 6
6:47 a.m., 3800 block of Ingalls Ave., a person reported that an unknown person (or persons) entered his two vehicles, ransacked the interior and stole change from both vehicles.
9:37 a.m., six people on the 2700 block of Jason Ave. reported their vehicles were entered. According to police, “Each vehicle was rifled through and only a cell phone and coins were stolen from some of the vehicles.”
11:47 a.m., a person reported their vehicle, which had been parked on the 3800 block of Jason Ave., was stolen.
4:45 p.m., 4400 block of Duke Street, someone reportedly smashed the front passenger side door window of a vehicle and stole the radio from the dashboard.
May 7
8:52 a.m., five people on the 2300 block of N. Early St. reported their vehicles were entered, rifled through and coins, sunglasses and cash were stolen from some
10:10 a.m., a person (or persons) attempted to enter a residence by cutting the screen at an open window. The homeowners’ doc apparently scared away the suspect. No entry was made and there was no other damage reported.
11:12 a.m., 3200 block of King Street, a person reported that an unknown suspect or suspects removed the driver’s side front turn signal lamp from her mother’s car, which was parked in the student parking lot.
May 8
2:36 a.m., a person on the 4100 block of Taney Ave. reported that she was robbed of cash while she was “assisting them in purchasing drugs,” according to police.
12:17 p.m., a person jogging in the 4600 block of Seminary Road said he was knocked to the ground by an unknown suspect. A person walking by helped the runner.
May 9
8:44 a.m., a woman who recently moved said she had not received a check from the school she attends, and the people at her old address refused to give her mail that had been delivered. The report was taken in the 6000 block of Edsall Road.
2:10 p.m., a person reported their car, parked in the 3700 block of Ingalls Ave., was broken into and cash and change were stolen.
May 11
8:11 a.m., a person in the 1400 block of N. Beauregard Street reported their vehicle had been stolen.
May 12
11:13 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 5500 block of Holmes Run Parkway.
