New Art Building for Northern Virginia Community College

Groundbreaking will occur later this spring to replace the Tyler building on campus.

Northern Virginia Community College is breaking ground this spring on a new arts center near the center of the Alexandria campus, said Acting Provost Ron Buchanan.

Pending final permits, groundbreaking should take place in early May and construction will last 15 to 18 months.

The building will replace the older Tyler building near Slessinger Hall on campus. It will include art studios, photo labs, a small recreational center for students, a small blackbox theater and music rehearsal space.
