ALEXANDRIA, VA — The latest Taco Bamba location is preparing to open in the Landmark area just outside Alexandria city limits. Chef Victor Albisu's taqueria chain will open the Landmark location on April 20.

The Landmark Taco Bamba will be located at 6259 Little River Turnpike, Alexandria. As previously shared by Taco Bamba, Albisu has a personal connection to the Landmark area.

"I worked at my mother's Latin market in Landmark while growing up in nearby Annandale where I graduated from high school," Albisu said in a previous news release. "I got an early education in global cuisine between my mom's store and the area's delicious Italian, West African, Korean, and Middle Eastern restaurants. And I have fond memories of spots like Generous George's, Starvin Marvin, and H I Ribsters. It's a community that is close to my heart and I can't wait for Taco Bamba to be a part of it."

Menu items will be inspired by the cuisine of the Landmark neighborhood. A few examples of tacos are the Porque Pop, stuffed with Korean-Style chicken nuggets; the Veggiemachatatte, with crispy sweet potato and salsa macha; and the Hi Ribster, with BBQ pork shoulder and morita slaw. Other offerings include the Starvin Marvin Meatball Torta, and the Generous George, a quesadilla filled with spaghetti and meat sauce.

Agave-focused mix drinks unique to the Landmark location are planned by Taco Bamba beverage director Amin Seddi. One example is the Ho Chi Meen, which is a new twist on the Last Word with mezcal and lemongrass syrup. Diners will also find Taco Bamba classics like the Margarita, Michelada, and Paloma.

The Landmark location will be 2,000 square feet with 42 indoor seats, including 10 bar seats. An expansive covered patio will offer additional seating outdoors. A visual highlight of the space is a mural of a fire-breathing, mezcal-drinking dragon rooster designed by illustrator Alexa Indriolo. The design also appears on staff T-shirts.

Taco Bamba has seven current locations in Northern Virginia and Maryland with plans to expand. Other openings are planned in Gaithersburg, Maryland this spring and Herndon this summer. Taco Bamba also announced it will return to DC at the City Ridge development at 3900 Wisconsin Avenue NW. The last Taco Bamba location in DC, located in the Chinatown neighborhood, closed during the pandemic in 2020.
