Here are the top three stories in Winchester today:

  1. Ryan Casey Taylor, 42, of Winchester, Daniel Lynn Stober, 35, of Alaska, and David Michael Gerhard, 31, of West Virginia, were indicted in connection to the death and disappearance of Shannon Lee Fox, a 30-year-old Winchester woman. Taylor and Stober were both indicted for a single felony count of concealing a dead body. Stober and Gerhard were both indicted for a felony count of drug distribution. Stober is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 4 and Taylor's first pre-trial hearing is set for May 11. (Subscription: The Winchester Star)
  2. On Apr. 11, 27-year-old Kenneth James Hughes Jr., of Winchester, pled guilty to two counts of distribution of fentanyl. On Oct. 23, 2020, an overdose resulting in the death of the user led to a law enforcement investigation which revealed Hughes sold fentanyl in the form of "pressed pills," which are fentanyl pills made to appear like Oxycodone 30mg pills. Hughes faces six to 10 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on Jul. 19, 2023. (Department of Justice)
  3. A Town Hall Meeting hosted by Supervisor Blaine Dunn will take place on Saturday, Apr. 15, from 1:15-2:30 p.m. at Greenwood Mill Elementary School in Winchester. The meeting will include discussions about the "upcoming budget, population growth, road issues, and issues of concern to residents." (Frederick County via Twitter)
