Here are the top three stories in Winchester today:
- On the night of Mar. 14, Winchester Public Schools Superintendent Jason Van Heukelum asked the City Council for $35.4 million for fiscal year 2024, the largest request he has made so far. If the council agrees, it would be a $3.2 million increase from the current fiscal year funding of $32 million. The City Council will decide whether or not to give the schools all of the money Heukelum requested when it creates the city's overall operating budget for FY24. (Subscription: Winchester Star)
- Winchester Parks and Recreation's Egg Splash is Apr. 1! Kids will have fun collecting Easter Eggs in the indoor pool and winning prizes. Registration is by age group and children must be registered by Wednesday, Mar. 22; day-of registrations will not be accepted. Learn more and register here.
