Mother Arrested After 2-Year-Old Boy Left Alone In Woodbridge Child Neglect Case
A wanted Woodbridge mother has been arrested in a child neglect case involving a 2-year-old child left alone.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Woodbridge mother wanted in a child neglect case involving an unsupervised 2-year-old has been arrested, Prince William County Police say.
On Wednesday, police arrested Alexandra Anna Granruth, 37, of Woodbridge and charged her with felony child neglect. The arrest stems from a July 23 response at a residence in the 4000 block of Dawson Beach Road.
Around 9:17 p.m. on July 23, police responded to the residence for a report of an unsupervised child. Police say the mother left the 2-year-old boy alone for an extended time. Around 2 p.m. that day, Granruth had contacted an acquaintance, who found the boy in an unkept state outside the residence. While the mother arranged for the boy's care until later that afternoon, she did not return to the area.

The acquaintance contacted police when the mother did not return. When officers attempted to contact the mother, police say she refused to return to the area. The 2-year-old boy was not injured and was turned over to known parties. Police obtained arrest warrants for Granruth did were not able to locate her until Wednesday.
