5 Virginia Restaurants are Foodie Favorites on New OpenTable List
Popular dining website releases '100 Best Restaurants for Foodies in America,' including a few local favorites in Northern Virginia.
OCCOQUAN, VA — Bistro L'hermitage is one of those restaurants that has built a reputation, regardless of its off-the-beaten-path location. The unique find may see a few more patrons this week. The restaurant is one of 5 in Virginia on Open Table's "100 Best Restaurants for Foodies in America."
"These standout restaurants are delicious destinations for the most passionate eaters — those for whom dining out is practically sport," says Caroline Potter, OpenTable Chief Dining Officer. "Using ingredients both humble and exotic and drawing culinary inspiration from around the globe, this year's honorees consistently offer thrilling experiences sure to please even the most discerning diners."
Other Virginia restaurants on the list included other unique dining locations, including The Goodstone Inn's restaurant in Middleburg and Great Fall's L'Auberge Chez François (both the main dining room and the casual-dining brasserie).

Open Table came up with its 100 Best Restaurants for Foodies in America list by using overall scores from reviews in the past year for all restaurants, and then grading qualifying restaurants based on the percentage of restaurant reviews that included a "fit for foodies" designation.
Unlike the remote locations in Virginia, three restaurants were on the list from the crowded D.C. restaurant scene: Marcel's by Robert Wiedmaier, Plume at the Jefferson Hotel, and Rasika.
Baltimore had two restaurants on the list: downtown's Charleston restaurant and Linwoods in Owings Mills.
