• Killing Of 3-Year-Old, Shooting Of 4 Others Leads To Guilty Plea (patch.com) — Woodbridge-area residents are learning more about a tragic Dumfries shooting where a 23-year-old man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and four counts of aggravated malicious wounding after a 3-year-old was killed and four others were injured in 2023. Prosecutors say he opened fire on his then-girlfriend and several children, and he now faces at least 40 years in prison, with final sentencing set for May 2026.
   

• Foundation damage? New county fund might be able to help (princewilliamtimes.com) — Prince William County has created a new taxpayer-funded grant program, inspired by complaints from Woodbridge District residents, to help homeowners fix foundation and soil problems tied to past development mistakes. Eligible homeowners and HOAs can apply in 2026 for grants covering up to half of repair costs, though the initial funding is limited and future funding isn’t guaranteed.
