9/11 Remembrance Ceremony To Be Held In 2025 In Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, VA — The anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks will be marked with a remembrance ceremony in Woodbridge.

Prince William County will host a Sept. 11 remembrance ceremony at. 9:30 a.m. at the 9/11 Liberty Memorial Fountain, 1 County Complex Ct, Woodbridge, VA. The Board of County Supervisors and others will attend the ceremony to remember those who died on Sept. 11, 2001.

The ceremony will include the Presentation of Colors, National Anthem, Tolling of the Bell, remarks from Chair Deshundra Jefferson and County Executive Christopher Shorter, reading of the names of the county residents who were killed on Sept. 11, 2001, and playing of taps. There were 22 reported victims from Prince William County.

At least 2,973 people lost their lives in the attacks, between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia and the hijacked plane that crashed in a Pennsylvania field. The somber anniversary is marked across the country with memorial services, moments of silence and community events.
