MONTCLAIR, VA — Prince William County Police say a teen was behind a bomb threat to a Montclair school on May 30, and an alternative to criminal charges is being pursued.

Around 2:04 p.m. on May 30, a school resource officer was investigating a bomb threat at Forest Park High School, located at 15721 Forest Park Drive. Police say a student sent a text containing a threat of potential violence to another student. An investigation identified the student and determined there was no credible threat to students, faculty or staff.

Police sought petitions against the student, a 15-year-old boy. After consulting with Juvenile Court Services, the case is being handled informally through the juvenile diversion process.
