Prince William Clean Community Council’s Keep America Beautiful Survey

We are looking for volunteers to help us survey 16 key areas of Prince William County for litter and debris. Volunteers will ride in a van (heated) as we survey streets and neighborhoods in Prince William County. Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Dec. 13  2011.  The data gathered by volunteers will help us better understand how to address the problem of litter and debris along our roadways and in neighborhoods. For more information and to RSVP, contact Kayne at (571) 285-3772 or kkarnbach@pwcleancouncil.org.

Marumsco Creek Cleanup

Nov. 16 2011 – More than 25 volunteers joined together in an effort, lead by Prince William Clean Community Council and Prince William Soil and Water Conservation District, to cleanup and restore parts of Marumsco Creek and Veterans Park after tons of debris was pushed into the creek and surrounding areas after the flooding along Route 1 earlier this year. More than 40 cubic yards (2 full roll off dumpsters) of trash were removed in 3 hours of work, including a great deal of hazardous waste. If you are interested in learning more about cleanups in Prince William County or what you can do to help, contact Kayne at (571) 285-3772 or kkarnbach@pwcleancouncil.org.
