Cleanups in Woodbridge, Dale City Yield Pounds of Trash

Over 2,000 pounds of trash picked up.

Keep Prince William Beautiful (formerly Prince William Clean Community Council) conducted its 3rd Annual Route 1 Cleanup from 9 a.m. – noon. Keep Prince William Beautiful partnered with Supervisor Principi’s office to recruit local volunteers for litter and debris removal along the nearly 13-mile stretch of Route 1 that runs through Prince William County.

This year’s efforts resulted in 2,300 pounds of litter and debris removed from the Route 1 corridor thanks to volunteers from , PotomacLocal.com, Woodbridge Potomac Communities Civic Association as well as many other local volunteers.

April 21, 2012, Dale City, VA – Volunteers organized a cleanup of John D. Jenkins Park in Dale City to remove litter and debris along the outskirts of the park. Over a couple of hours, the volunteers picked up three bags worth of litter, and larger items such as tires and rims. Volunteers included Bill Moser, Connie Moser, Jamie Alberti and her daughter.

April 21, 2012, Dale City, VA – Theresa Yates and her daughter Tessa Yates worked with Keep Prince William Beautiful to clean-up a much needed section of roadway that fronts Hoadly Road and Dale Boulevard, including wooded areas behind a 7-Eleven Tessa Yates solicited help from her friends and local girl scout troop to help with the litter pickup. In all, more than 25 people showed up to help. In two hours of work, 12 bags of litter were removed including tires and large pieces of furniture.
