The school has not yet been named. The new name will be determined by the Prince William County School Board following recommendations from the School Naming Committee.
The school will be designed to accommodate about 1,000 students in grades K–5, alleviating capacity issues and meet growing enrollment in the Potomac Shores area. There is already a Potomac Shores Middle School. The elementary school building will provide classrooms, a gymnasium, STEAM and art classrooms, a media center, learning stairs and photovoltaic panels on the roof to offset electrical power usage. The school is being designed by Architecture, Inc. and constructed by HESS Construction Company.
