Copper Pipe Thefts in Dale City, Woodbridge Continue

Police are yet again seeking information in eight Dale City and Woodbridge-area copper piping thefts since June 2011. 

The thefts occur at vacant or renovated residences. 

Homes that are vacant or are under renovation have been burglarized. The copper piping, seemingly the target of the thefts, is commonly found around water heaters. When removed, the theft causes significant water damage and hazardous gas leaks.

If anyone spots a suspicious person or a gas odor, police are urging residents to call 703-792-6500.

• The 14300 block of Fallbrook Ln in Dale City on Aug. 4
• The 14800 block of Dixon Ct in Dale City on Aug. 7
• The 14700 block of Darbydale Ave in Dale City on Aug. 8 
• The 14900 block of Daytona Ct in Dale City on Aug. 15
• The 14900 block of Cordell Ave in Dale City on Aug. 18
• The 3100 block of Buena Ct in Dale City on Aug. 26
• The 14800 block of Downey Ct in Dale City on Aug. 26
• The 14700 block of Edgewater Dr in Dale City on Aug. 29
