Driver Was Speeding In Crash That Killed Woodbridge Woman, Charges Announced
Prince William County Police have charged the driver in a fatal crash involving speeding more than 20 mph over the limit.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A driver is facing charges for the May 1 crash that killed a Woodbridge woman, according to Prince William County Police. Police say the driver was going more than 20 mph over the speed limit.
Luis Alejandro Anariba, 23, of Woodbridge, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless driving after police obtained arrest warrants Thursday. Anariba is being held without bond, and a court date is spending.
Officers had responded to the fatal crash around 6:57 p.m. on May 1 at Dale Boulevard and Barksdale Street in Dale City. According to police, a westbound 2020 Honda Civic on Dale Boulevard collided with an eastbound 2008 Honda Civic turning left toward Barksdale Street on a flashing yellow left turn signal.

A passenger in the 2008 Honda Civic was extricated and taken to the hospital, but she later died of her injuries. She was identified as Evangelina Castro, 32, of Woodbridge. The 2008 Honda driver, a 34-year-old man from Woodbridge, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police determined Anariba was driving more than 20 mph over the posted 45 mph speed limit. He remained on the scene of the crash.
