On July 26, shortly after midnight, a Dale City homeowner in the 3200 block of Gina Place was awakened by the sound of a gunshot being fired near her home, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
"The homeowner reported to police that she awoke to the sound of a loud bang," Perok said.
When the woman checked her house, she found that one of her kitchen cabinets had been struck with a bullet.
