Driver Ran Out Of Ambulance After Fatal Crash In Woodbridge: Police
A driver fled from an ambulance after a crash that killed a tractor-trailer driver on I-95 in Woodbridge on Sunday, police said.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A tractor-trailer driver died in a crash on Interstate 95 in Woodbridge on Sunday, Virginia State Police said. Authorities are now searching for the other driver involved in the crash.
Authorities have only publicly identified the deceased driver as an adult male. Police officials said they were still working to notify his family.
The crash occurred just after 5 a.m. on Sunday near mile marker 156 on southbound I-95. Investigators said the tractor-trailer and the sedan collided. The crash caused the truck to hit a ramp pillar, which ripped open the trailer and spilled its contents.

The tractor-trailer driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police report.
The sedan driver received treatment by EMS at the scene as well. However, he ran out of the ambulance and fled the area on foot, authorities said.

"State police are following up on several leads regarding his location," Virginia State Police officials said in a news release.
Investigators are still working to determine what factors contributed to the crash.
