Terrorist Supporter from Woodbridge Faces 15 Years

Ahmad pleaded guilty to helping a terror organization in December 2011.

A Woodbridge man who has pleaded guilty to federal criminal charges of providing  is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday.

Jubair Ahmad, a Pakistan native living in Woodbridge, was arrested on Sept. 2, 2011 on charges of "providing material support to Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT), a designated foreign terrorist organization, and making false statements in a terrorism investigation," according to the FBI.

An affidavit alleges that in September 2010 Ahmad produced and uploaded a video to the Internet via YouTube on behalf of LeT. The FBI said that the final video product has “images of LeT leader Hafiz Saeed, so-called jihadi martyrs and armored trucks exploding after having been hit by improvised explosive devices."

Ahmad, 24, could serve up to a maximum of 15 years in prison on the material support charge and eight years in prison on the charge of making false statements in a terrorism investigation.
