Free Comic Book Day in Woodbridge
2,000 free comics waiting for readers Saturday at local comic book shop Painted Visions.

If you are a fan of comic books or want to encourage children to read the original form of The Avengers, Spiderman, Batman and more, you'll be happy to hear that Free Comic Book Day is May 4.
Painted Visions in Woodbridge will celebrate by giving away 2,000 free comics between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, store manager Tom Kupin said.
The store will also have its second annual sidewalk sale, dollar issue comics, and discounted graphic novels.

Both DC and Marvel have rebooted in the past couple of years, with DC's New 52, and Marvel's Marvel NOW.
"It's really not a bad time for anybody who doesn't know a lot or is wanting a spot to jump in," Kupin said. "It's about as good of a time as it's going to get."

For DC, Kupin recommends Superman, The Flash, Batman, and Green Lantern, and for Marvel, he recommends Uncanny Avengers, Thor, Ironman, and Deadpool.
Painted Visions is located at 3065 Golansky Blvd. in the Springwood Shopping Center off of Smoketown Road.
