Gun Brought Onto School Grounds Results In Charges For Teen

Prince William County Police have charged a teen in connection with bringing a gun onto an elementary school grounds.

DALE CITY, VA — A teen is facing charges for bringing a gun onto school property at a Dale City elementary school, according to Prince William County Police.

The incident happened at Rosa Parks Elementary School on Sept. 29, 2024, a weekend date when no students or staff were believed to be on site. A photo obtained by police on June 27, 2025 showed a teen boy holding a gun at a location determined to be the elementary school grounds. Police do not believe the teen fired the gun, and there were no signs of threats toward the school, students or staff.

The 16-year-old teen of Woodbridge was charged with possession of a firearm on school property and possession of a firearm by a minor. Minors facing charges are not usually identified by police unless they are charged as adults.
