Road Rage Encounter Leads To Driver Displaying Gun In Woodbridge

Recent incidents investigated by police include sexual assaults of a child and a road rage encounter with a weapon.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A driver displayed a gun during a road rage encounter in Woodbridge Tuesday, Prince William County Police say.

Around 7:06 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to Minnieville Road near Smoketown Road for a report of a gun being pulled out. Police say the 23-year-old victim was driving on Minnieville Road and had a road rage dispute with another driver. The suspect vehicle pulled up next to the victim's vehicle, and the driver showed a gun. The victim drove away from the area.

Police say no shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.

The suspect was wearing a flat-brimmed hat and driving a Honda Civic.

Sexual Assault Investigation: On April 22, detectives concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence in the Triangle (22172) area of Prince William County between November 2024 and March 2025. The investigation revealed the victim, who was under the age of 13 at the time of the offenses, was sexually assaulted by an acquaintance, identified as the accused, on more than one occasion during the above timeframe. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Juan Edgardo Membreno Amaya, who on April 22 was taken into custody in Woodbridge by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer: On April 21 at 11:22PM, officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of Malta St. near Rapid Ln. in Woodbridge (22193) for a traffic violation. During the stop, the driver of the vehicle, later identified as the accused, disregarded the officer’s command and fled on foot. When officers attempted to detain the accused, he sprayed an officer with an eye-irritant before being detained without further incident. Officers determined the accused was also intoxicated and in possession of suspected illegal narcotics. An officer was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The accused was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries before being transported to the Adult Detention Center.
Following the investigation, the accused, identified as David Alex Parkhurst, was arrested.

Shooting into a Residential Dwelling: On April 20 at 6:25PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Morgan Ct. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a destruction of property. The investigation revealed sometime between January and April gunfire struck the home. No injuries or additional property damage were reported. A bullet fragment was recovered inside the home.

Strong-Arm Robbery: On April 18 at 6:04PM, officers responded to Potomac Mills located at 2700 Potomac Mills Cl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 15-year-old male juvenile, was sitting in a chair inside the shopping center when he was approached by three unknown males, possibly juveniles. During the encounter, the suspects punched the victim and knocked him to the ground where they then took the victim’s shoes and left the area. No injuries were reported. The suspects were described as two Hispanic males and one black male.

Indecent Exposure: On April 18 at 3:23PM, officers responded to Burlington Coat Factory inside Potomac Mills located at 2700 Potomac Mills Cl., Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an indecent exposure. The investigation revealed the victim, a 40-year-old woman, was in the checkout line when she observed an unknown man near the exit, exposing himself. The man then re-clothed himself and left the store. No other contact was made between the victim and the suspect. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, approximately 30 years old, last seen wearing sunglasses, a gray shirt and black jogging suit pants.

Sexual Assault Investigation: On April 16, 2025, detectives concluded the investigation into a sexual
assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Woodbridge (22192) area of Prince William County Police in November 2023. The investigation revealed the victim, who was an adult female, was sexually assaulted by an acquaintance, identified as the accused. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Marvin Ernesto Macias Coronado, who on April 16, was arrested in Fairfax County.
