Gunshot Reports Investigated In Lake Ridge, Dale City: Police

Prince William County Police are investigating reports of gunshots at homes and robberies at Potomac Mills.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Prince William County Police responded to several gunshots and robbery reports in the eastern part of the county over the long holiday weekend.

The two gunshots reports came from Dale City and Lake Ridge. Around 10:06 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a home in the 14300 block of Springbrook Ct in Dale City. The second gunshot incident was reported around 2:02 a.m. on Monday in the 2000 block of Mayflower Drive in Lake Ridge.

In both incidents, police say the homeowners heard a gunshot and found damage from a round that entered the home. There were no injuries reported. In the Lake Ridge investigation, police canvassed the neighborhood and found a second home had been struck.

Other reports from police include two robberies at Potomac Mills. Around 6:39 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to Potomac Mills at 2700 Potomac Mills Circle to investigate the robbery of a 31-year-old woman. The victim had been walking to her car when an unknown man approached and pushed her. The suspect stole her cell phone before leaving. There were no reported injuries.

The suspect was a man with a thin build wearing a red sweatshirt, a white, blue, and black windbreaker, dark-colored pants, and carrying a backpack.

Around 5:51 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the New Balance Factory Store at Potomac Mills for a shoplifting. According to police, employees had confronted a man for concealing merchandise. The suspect implied he had a knife and fled with a pair of shoes. There were no reported injuries.

The suspect was a man in his mid-to-late 20s with a medium build wearing a dark-colored puffy jacket, dark-colored top with white lettering, jeans and gray shoes.
