HuffPo: U.S. Military Ends Iraq War

Military flag packed up almost nine years after the war began.

Almost nine years after the war began in Iraq, United States military formally ended the war Thursday with a flag ceremony. 

The formal end to the war was marked by U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta's attendance; soldiers formally retired the flag and placed it in a camouflaged sleeve. 

According to Reuters, 4,000 American troops will return by the end of the year.
